Background

Stephen Ludwig, MD, serves as chairman of the Graduate Medical Education Committee and Continuing Medical Education Committee at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is a designated institutional official and senior advisor for Medical Education. Dr. Ludwig is an attending physician in general pediatrics at CHOP, a professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and the John H. and Hortense Cassell Jensen Endowed Chair in Pediatric Development and Teaching.

Dr. Ludwig has served as president of the Academic Pediatric Association (APA), was elected to the Institute of Medicine, chaired the Pediatric Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).

After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Ludwig obtained his Doctorate of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency at Children's Hospital National Medical Center, where he was chief resident.
