Before coming to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Maura worked as an English teacher and medical interpreter in northern Peru with the Augustinian Volunteers and as a data analyst and project manager for quality improvement at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
As Global Health Program Manager, Maura oversees the operations of the Dominican Republic (DR) programs and provides management to the community based Niños Primeros en Salud pediatric health clinic in the DR. She collaborates with the leadership in CHOP’s partner communities to maintain and develop strong relationships and effective management. She also assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of Global Health projects and programs. She travels regularly to the DR and Southern Africa to oversee CHOP's Global Health program.
Maura is also essential leader in integrating the Global Health programs into the CHOP system. She is responsible for Global Health’s annual conference and for CHOP’s Global Health Allies programs. Maura leads efforts in recruitment and orientation of CHOP teams traveling internationally. She is also involved in the development of Latin American business initiatives.
Maura received her master’s in public health from Thomas Jefferson University and her bachelor’s in Spanish for international service from The Catholic University of America. Maura is fluent in Spanish.
