The Division of Anatomic Pathology provides a full range of consultation services for outside cases including autopsy, surgical and anti-enterocyte staining and analysis. We encourage consults on any pediatric disorder, particularly those involving oncology, metabolic, gastrointestinal or liver disease, or on any child who comes to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for a second opinion, or whose care is transferred to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The Division of Anatomic Pathology provides postmortem evaluation on fetuses, neonates and children. All requests for Autopsy must be coordinated by the Pathology Department of the submitting institution. A full range of consultation services is available for all surgical specimens. Slides (stained or unstained), and/or blocks can be submitted to the Division of Anatomic Pathology for consultation. Please make sure all materials sent are packaged to remain intact during shipment and maintain specimen integrity.
All requests for surgical consultations must be accompanied by a fully completed Consult Surgical Requisition
