SPECIMEN COLLECTION INFORMATION:
Fluid or material: Fluid or material from any body site in a sterile leak-proof screw cap container OR double swab culture device
Bone Marrow: one Isolator tube with maximum of 1.5 mLs specimen (available from the Microbiology Laboratory)
Blood: if yeast is suspected, submit up to 4 ml of blood in a blood culture bottle.
Blood: if Mold, Dimorphic Fungus or Malessesia furfur are suspected, submit up to 1.5 ml of blood in an isolator tube (available from the Microbiology Laboratory). Please notify the Laboratory if these organism are suspected.
