The Neonatal Follow-up Program assesses the medical, nutritional, neurologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the preterm and high-risk infant after discharge. Our specialized staff has extensive experience in addressing the ongoing needs of families faced with caring for their medically complex infant.
Evaluations include the following:
Our staff is particularly specialized at assessing and managing the infant and child with underlying medical problems that have an impact on subsequent development. To meet the complex medical needs of the infant with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, we have a program to manage supplemental oxygen and bronchodilator/diuretic therapy.
Referral for special services such as home-care nursing, early intervention/therapy programs and subspecialty consultations is available to the patient and family if necessary.
We maintain close communication with primary physicians so that a coordinated plan of medical management is maintained by all who participate in the infant's care.
