Cookies for Kids Cancer Awards $200K to Cancer Research at CHOP

Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research, has awarded $200,000 in grants to the Cancer Center. The grant recipients are Stephan A. Grupp, MD, and Michael D. Hogarty, MD, physician-scientists at CHOP dedicated to pediatric cancer research.

New Clinical Trial for Treatment of Pediatric Leukemia at CHOP

The Hospital is now enrolling pediatric cancer patients in an innovative clinical trial, called CART19, that programs the immune system to attack blood cancers. Researchers will modify a child’s own T cells to attack specific types of cancer in their B cells.

Cancer Center Receives LIVESTRONG Award

CHOP has been chosen as a LIVESTRONG® Community Impact Project award recipient, funding two unique programs called Artists-in-Residence and SuperSibs! within the Cancer Center’s Psychosocial Services Program to enhance emotional support for CHOP cancer patients.
