We developed our care model by asking the question, "What would a family want in a care team as they enter our center, at any stage — newly diagnosed, later in therapy or in survivorship?" We believe the answer is that every child should have the opportunity to have their condition consulted upon, treated, followed and cared for by internationally recognized experts in the field of pediatric oncology.
To facilitate this, we have developed dedicated multidisciplinary teams and review conferences for children at any phase of treatment to ensure each child has a personalized care plan and is getting the best possible recommendations. Our pediatric cancer treatment programs include:
Our care team model allows families to see fewer physicians so they can build an ongoing relationship. It also allows our pediatric oncologists to gain an in-depth understanding of their patients and families so they can better meet their needs.
Families also benefit from the many research advances that are being made at our Center for Childhood Cancer Research. When a discovery is made that leads to a new treatment, we have the resources to quickly implement it for our patients.
