Our clinical research focuses on the surgical and medical treatment of both benign and malignant bone tumors. We are also involved in studies related to sports injuries, spine problems and trauma.
Current research projects by members of the Orthopaedic Division.
Our translational research focuses on clarifying the mechanisms that control skeletal development and growth in fetal and postnatal life.

Our basic research focuses on the molecular and biologic properties of tumors. Tissue obtained during surgeries that is not needed for diagnosis is processed and frozen in a tumor bank for the use of researchers. This is only done with the knowledge and permission of families.
Investigation of biochemical and genetic factors that predict tumor growth or aggressive biologic properties are helping scientists develop a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of tumor development and invasion.
