Become an author

Moms, Dads and Kids of all ages! We are looking for families interested in sharing "their story". We are compiling stories of different members of families to include in a book that we can share with other families who may be going through what you have experienced. Please feel free to share whatever you would like others to know. The book will also be used to help educate the medical and school communities as well as the general public. Here are some topics a few parents thought would be helpful. Remember it's your story!

These are certainly not mandatory topics but they may be helpful as a starting point.

Student writings: Please share your experience with others and what you want people to know! Service learning credits may be available.

We are trying to arrange special events for those who become authors. All submissions must be in by July 15, 2009. Please contact Lois Robbins, 267-426-0218 robbinsl@email.chop.edu or Elisa Olson, 215-590-3049 olsone@email.chop.edu.

News from Congress

Rep. John Boozman (AR) and Senator Robert Casey (PA) introduced resolutions in the House and Senate "commending the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for its initiative in creating the Nation's first program dedicated to pediatric stroke patients." It was further resolved that the Congress "(1) supports the designation of an appropriate date as 'National Childhood Stroke Awareness Day'; and (2) urges the people of the United States to support the efforts, programs, services, and advocacy of organizations that work to enhance public awareness of childhood stroke." Please let your Representatives and Senators know how much this is appreciated and needed.
