The Pediatric Thyroid Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is a multidisciplinary center dedicated to the unique medical needs of children and adolescents with thyroid disease. Our center provides the ideal combination of expertise, experience and resources, allowing us to provide optimal, individualized care for each patient.

For patients facing thyroid cancer, the Pediatric Thyroid Center provides experienced surgical services and radiotherapy. We have refined the techniques and skills needed to perform fine-needle aspiration biopsies (FNAB) of thyroid nodules in children. We are one of the very few centers in the United States to offer this level of expertise in evaluation and care of pediatric patients with thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer — all in a family-centered, child-focused Hospital.
Our team works closely with the Thyroid Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, including Susan Mandel, MD, Jill Langer, MD, Zubair Baloch, MD PhD, and Virginia LiVolsi, MD, to access its expertise and plan a smooth transition of care for our young adult patients.
