The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship in sleep medicine. With CHOP, combined resources provide for a pediatric sleep medicine track. An applicant to the pediatric track should have completed training in an accredited pediatrics residency program prior to beginning sleep training, such that the applicant could sit for the American Board of Pediatrics certifying exam. The goal of the fellowship is to train future leaders in academic sleep medicine. Accordingly, two to three years of research (basic or clinical) are expected following a year of comprehensive clinical training. Currently, due to funding regulations, aplicants must be citizens of the United States or permanent residents.
