Transplant Center

Financial Counseling Through the Transplant Center

The Transplant Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has a dedicated financial counselor who will work with you and your insurance company to obtain detailed insurance benefits for all aspects of the transplant process — including outpatient prescription drugs, follow-up clinic visits, travel and housing and maximum benefit restrictions.

Our financial counselor will also assist you with alternative funding options for any out of pocket expenses, denied services or general financial questions. We'll work with your insurance company and our billing office to resolve any billing issues that may arise during the transplant process.

The financial counselor works very closely with social workers to help you plan for the cost of a transplant. They will help you with application processes for Family Health Coverage Programs, which include Medicaid and/or Charity Care. Eligibility is based on income guidelines.
