To arrange all trauma transports to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia whether by ground or air call 1-800-590-2160. This number connects you with our Transport Communication Center.
Once connected, our communications specialist will patch you through to our trauma control physician, who is a pediatric emergency medicine physician trained and experienced in pediatric trauma care. The trauma control physician will advise you on any care that you need to provide for the child before transfer and will answer any other questions that you might have. This physician, along with the transport team, will also help to determine the best way for the child to travel. While this discussion is taking place the communications specialist will already be arranging this transportation.
The trauma team, plus any other needed physician service, will then be notified to expect the arrival of the child. It is our policy never to refuse admission of a traumatically injured child.
