We have always had excellent care. Excellent entire experience. Thank you!
The Division of Urology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a world leader in pediatric urology. The Division was voted No. 1 by U.S.News & World Report's Best Children’s Hospitals survey for 2012-13 for treatment of complex pediatric urologic issues, garnering the highest score possible in every category measured — the only hospital to do so.
Each year we treat almost 20,000 children and perform more than 2,000 surgeries. We treat patients in our communities, from across the nation and from around the world. Our commitment to children and their families is long-standing.
Established in 1970 as the first program dedicated to the urologic needs of children, our Division has a history of innovation, commitment to optimal care, and dedication to the training of future generations of pediatric urologists from the United States and abroad.
Our team is comprised of a team of world leaders in minimally invasive surgery, genito-urinary reconstruction, comprehensive management of disorders of sex development, management of the neurogenic bladder, and the treatment of kidney stones and dysfunctional voiding. Our physicians offer the full complement of surgical approaches including laparoscopic, robotic and open surgical procedures.
CHOP Urology is different from many other pediatric urology practices in that we offer the full complement of services to help your child and your family. During your child’s evaluation, we will assess his medical, surgical and psychosocial needs. We have a team of surgeons, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, registered nurses and clinical psychologists available to help you. Because we recognize the health of your child and your family is paramount, we will work with your pediatrician, other specialty care physicians and schools to ensure that your child is able to function to his fullest potential.
Scientific research is an integral part of our program; our discoveries in the laboratory are translated into new therapies. At the same time, our clinical research enables us to fine-tune the care of children with urologic abnormalities. Current areas of research include:
