The Gender and Sexuality Development Clinic offers medical and psychosocial support for gender variant, gender non-conforming and transgender children and youth up to 21 years of age and their families. We also provide consultation and training for providers and organizations interested in learning how to serve the needs of gender variant youth.
The clinic is a collaboration among several divisions at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, including Adolescent Medicine, Endocrinology, and the departments of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Social Work and Family Relations.
The multidisciplinary team — led by Nadia Dowshen, MD, Linda Hawkins, PhD, LPC, Wilma Rossi, MD, MBE, and Wyniqua Brown — includes pediatric specialists in gender, adolescent medicine, endocrinology, and mental health.
