I provide clinical care and coordinate care of patients and families of children with both hematology and oncology disorders. As a nurse manager, I support clinical care amongst the healthcare team. I especially enjoy empowering families to feel comfortable caring for their child while teaching them about their child’s illness and treatment.
My areas of specialty are hematology and oncology, treating patients with liquid and solid tumors as well as sickle cell disease and hemophilia.
Over the 16 years that I have worked in pediatric hematology/oncology, I have been most impressed by the resilience of children with chronic illness and the amazing strength that families maintain during their children’s treatment. I have authored an article that focused on hepatitis C in long-term survivors of childhood cancer.
