My role is to coordinate care for children with cancer, to support nursing staff, and to facilitate system improvements in order to provide the most optimal care to our patients and families. I especially enjoy teaching patients and families as well as mentoring clinical staff in this process.

One of my passions is chemotherapy safety and educating nurses about current best practices related to chemotherapy administration. As a national chemotherapy instructor I am constantly learning new information in order to ensure that we stay up to date. A second passion of mine is skin care. I love to partner with patients and families to provide interventions that prevent skin complications. As a primary investigator for a nursing research study" "Evaluation of the Prevalence of Diaper Dermatitis in Pediatric Leukemia," funded by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, I have the opportunity to impact the future of nursing care in pediatric oncology.

Over the 11 years that I have worked in pediatric oncology, I am most impressed by the strength of the patients and families that we take care of. Even though we provide education to them on a daily basis the lessons that they teach us are profound. I am also amazed at the teamwork and relationships that develop between the patients and families and the multidisciplinary team.

I have authored one journal publication on the role of oral glutamine for bone marrow transplant patients. I have authored and coauthored several poster presentations. My research interests include chemotherapy safety and the prevention and treatment of diaper dermatitis in children with cancer.
