Lyndsey: Hi, I'm Lyndsey for Healthy Kids News. B-M-I. Know what it is? Let's find out. BMI stands for Body Mass Index. It is a formula that uses your height and weight to estimate how much body fat you have.
Dr. Shirley Huang: A lot of schools are actually sending home letters about your BMI and how healthy your weight is. Here's a growth chart, and it's already colored for you to make it easy for you to understand. This red area here means that you are overweight. If you're in this yellow area,it means that you're close to being overweight. If you're in this white area, it means that you are in a normal weight.
Lyndsey: If your number is too high, talk to your doctor or nurse to learn how to lower it. Well, now you know. For healthy kids news, I'm Lyndsey.
