The word "chapel" actually means "canopy" or "cape." This definition fits perfectly with what the Schlimm Center will represent to those who visit. Whatever their needs or beliefs, this will be a place of harbor and comfort."
Jack Rodgers, Hospital Chaplain
The Schlimm Center for Prayer and Reflection is located on the first floor of the Main Hospital just off the Rotunda. Redesigned and rededicated in January 2007, the Center is a place of peace, where families of all denominations can pray, reflect, meditate and find comfort.
The Chaplaincy Program, in conjunction with the Department of Social Work and Family Services, have compiled a list of local congregations who invite CHOP families to attend. For information on houses of worship or faiths not listed, please call the Chaplain's office at 215-590-1137.
Patients and families can now email their prayer requests to our chaplains at firstname.lastname@example.org. As always, respectful confidentiality is offered by the chaplains who read and respond to the requests.
