To contact a patient at the Hospital, you will need the patient's full, correct name. Call our Patient Information line at 267-426-0382. The operator will give you the patient's hospital room phone number. Please note that the patient's parent can choose not have this information available, and if that is the case, the operator will not disclose the phone number.
Under no circumstances will the operator disclose information about a patient's medical status, room number or any other personal information.
From our Web site, you can choose and send an e-Card to any inpatient in the Hospital. Please keep in mind that e-Cards can only be delivered to inpatients, and will take 1-2 days to be delivered. Learn more about e-Cards.

To protect the safety of patients, family, staff and visitors, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia asks anyone 18 and older who is entering the Hospital or Wood Building, regardless of the reason for your visit, to present a photo ID and obtain a visitors pass upon arrival. If you haven’t got a photo ID, we will be happy to take your photo for identification during your CHOP visit.
You must wear your visitors pass during your visit. It is good for the day of your visit only. Each day you visit the Hospital, you will need to present your photo ID and obtain a new visitors pass to wear during that visit. If for any reason you do not get a pass when you first arrive, please try to do so as soon as possible during your visit because visitors without a pass will be stopped by Security.
CHOP may use your photo ID to check a variety of sources, including public registries that identify individuals who may pose a risk to children. View our updated ID policy on the Visitor Guidelines page to learn more about what CHOP is doing to maintain a safe environment.
Visiting hours for patients' relatives and friends are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Immediate family are welcome to be present at any time, and one parent or guardian is invited to stay overnight.
Latex balloons are not allowed at Children's Hospital, because many children have allergies to latex. Mylar balloons are allowed, and are available in our gift shop on the first floor of the Main Building.
