For Patients and Visitors

Visitor Guidelines

ID Policy

The safety of patients, families, staff and visitors is of utmost importance at CHOP. To maintain a safe environment, we are now asking anyone 18 and older who is entering the Hospital or Wood Center, regardless of the reason for the visit, to show a photo ID. The following are acceptable forms of identification:

If you don’t have a photo ID, we will be happy to take your photo to provide you with photo identification during your visit at CHOP.

We may use your ID to check a variety of sources, including public registries that identify individuals who may pose a risk to children. We reserve the right to use this information to restrict access to Hospital locations as appropriate.

For more information, please see our Visiting Information details.

General visitor guidelines

We recognize this may be an inconvenience. Keeping your child and the rest of our patients germ free is our utmost priority. CHOP staff members will be available to assist you through the screening process in a timely manner and answer any questions you may have about how to limit visitors to the hospital for the safety of your child. Also be sure to ask us how we can help you stay connected to family and friends during this time.

We thank you for your cooperation.
