Lauren Tanzer, MBA, MS, PMP, is the Administrative Director (AO) for the Division of Pulmonary Medicine. Lauren brings tremendous breadth and depth of experience in clinical operations, strategic planning, quality improvement and patient safety, project management, and clinical research.
Lauren obtained her Bachelors of Science degree at Penn State University, subsequently completing a Masters of Science in Health Care Quality and Safety at Thomas Jefferson University and a Masters in Business Administration at Drexel. From 2008-2010, she worked at Drexel as a research coordinator and then senior project manager on a NIH funded research study on obesity and eating disorders.
She came to CHOP in 2010, joining the Research Institute as a project manager for studies leveraging information technology across 6 children's hospitals for efforts in comparative effectiveness research. From 2013-2018, she served in the Department of Pediatrics, where she played key roles in operational and quality improvement projects, consulting across all divisions on development of QI curriculum and facilitating the hospital-wide Maintenance of Certification Steering Committee. In addition, Lauren led the team that brought automated text message reminders to CHOP for patient visits, the Patiently (Charley) texting platform.
As a manager in Cardiology, Lauren built a strong team who has taken on operational projects to revamp clinical services, enhance billing opportunities and streamline processes. She has led their recruitment strategy efforts and on boarded many physicians. She has presented work on quality and patient safety, operational process improvement, and predictive analytics at numerous national conferences. Lauren has enjoyed working collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical staff and looks forward to translating her prior experiences to Pulmonary Medicine.

The Patient Experience Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions shown above from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
