Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Courses

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses are designed to teach and review the lifesaving skills required for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

  • PALS Provider — An advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this two-day course, skills are taught in large group sessions and small group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
  • PALS Renewal — An advanced, instructor-led classroom course intended for those healthcare providers that are currently certified in PALS. The one-day course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large group sessions and small group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
  • PALS Heartcode — A web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. This program uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings.
