Gender and Sexuality Development Program

Some children and youth identify their gender as different from the sex they were assigned at birth. Affirming your child's gender identity and allowing them to explore their gender and sexuality is crucial for their well-being and resilience. We can help. The Gender and Sexuality Development Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) supports children and young adults who are gender nonconforming, gender expansive and transgender. Parents, patients, and families are central to our care at CHOP and are a critical part of our evaluation and care planning. We also provide consultation and training for providers interested in learning how to better serve the needs of gender nonconforming youth.
