Government Affairs and Advocacy
The Office of Government Affairs and Advocacy is the link between Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and all things government — federal, state and local. We collaborate with patients, parents, clinicians, community partners and hospital leaders to identify problems that could be solved by government action, to cultivate policy strategies, and to advance legislative and regulatory solutions.
We focus on issues that matter to children, including:
• Improving Access to Affordable, High-Quality Pediatric Care
• Bolstering Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Services
• Supporting a Thriving and Growing Pediatric Workforce
• Increasing Innovation in Pediatric Care Delivery and Research
• Ensuring Communities are a Healthy Place for Children to Grow and Thrive
Check out our Be an Advocate for Children page to learn about ways to get involved and follow @CHOPAdvocacy on Twitter for the latest about our advocacy efforts on public policy issues impacting children.
CHOP Joins National Coalition to “Sound the Alarm for Kids”
Rates of depression and suicide have been rising in children, teens, and young adults fr two decades. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States, 1 in 5 children under age 18 experienced a mental health condition. The "Sound the Alarm" campaign aims to break down barriers to mental health access.
