Heritable Arrhythmias Clinic

The Heritable Arrhythmias Clinic at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides coordinated, family-centered care for children, teens and young adults with inherited heart rhythm conditions. Our individualized care plans are informed by clinical findings, genetic information, and personal and family history. One of the few centers of our kind in the United States, we offer a full array of advanced therapies, including device placement, surgical interventions and participation in leading clinical trials, including gene-based and other precision therapies.

How we serve you

Our interdisciplinary clinic brings together cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiovascular genetics and a dedicated genetic counselor to provide highly personalized treatment plans and precision care. We also provide comprehensive family evaluation following the sudden unexplained death of a seemingly healthy relative. Our specialty is getting children and young adults back to the sports and healthy lifestyles they love.

Conditions we treat

  • Inherited heart rhythm conditions
  • Long QT syndrome (LQTS)
  • Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT)
  • Brugada syndrome

  • Arrhythmic cardiomyopathy (ACM), also called arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy or dysplasia (ARVC or ARVD)
  • Family evaluation following the sudden unexplained death of a seemingly health individual
