Outpatient Lactation Services

At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we believe every family deserves access to expert lactation care. Our Outpatient Lactation Clinic helps families reach their breastfeeding goals – no matter the challenge.
We support babies and families facing challenges that affect breastfeeding or milk production, including premature birth, feeding difficulties, allergies, surgery or illness, and transitions from tube feedings to oral feeding. Many of these challenges can be resolved with guidance from skilled, knowledgeable lactation experts.
All CHOP lactation consultants are healthcare professionals and IBCLC-certified, the highest standard in lactation care. Many are also registered dietitians allowing us to address nutrition, allergies and special feeding needs and underlying medical conditions.
Appointments are available in Philadelphia and King of Prussia, and through telehealth. Families do not need to be existing CHOP patients to access care.
