Renovascular Hypertension Clinic

The Pediatric Renovascular Hypertension Clinic at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) gives children of all ages coordinated medical and surgical care for renovascular hypertension.
Pediatric renovascular hypertension (pRVH) is high blood pressure caused by narrowed blood vessels that bring blood to the kidneys. If pRVH is not treated, it can lead to poor growth and damage to important organs. Narrow blood vessels can also harm kidney development and kidney function. High blood pressure of any kind can cause long-term heart problems.
While our clinic focuses on treating complex hypertension with both medical and surgical care, we also work closely with the Cardiac Center’s Preventative Cardiovascular Program. Together, we offer heart health evaluations as part of a complete care plan for each child.
How we serve you
The Pediatric Renovascular Hypertension program is a multidisciplinary outpatient program that provides comprehensive medical and surgical assessment, diagnostics and management recommendations based on your child’s individual needs.
