The Single Ventricle Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides comprehensive, world-class care for children with all single ventricle heart conditions, including the most rare and complex.

Part of CHOP’s renowned Cardiac Center – the largest of its kind in North America – our cardiothoracic surgical team are international leaders in staged reconstruction for single ventricle heart defects. We use advanced imaging to clearly visualize each child’s heart before and during surgery, guiding individualized surgical planning. Our outcomes rank among the best in the world.

Because each heart is different, treatment is carefully tailored to each child’s unique needs. Our team’s expertise and experience ensure your child will receive the best possible care.

How we serve you

Our Single Ventricle Program provides the full spectrum of multidisciplinary, coordinated care for single ventricle defects – from advanced prenatal diagnosis and individualized treatment to specialized interstage support, ongoing follow-up and a seamless transition to adult congenital heart care.
