As a nurse practitioner, my role is to provide clinical and supportive care to pediatric oncology patients and families. My passion is educating patients and families about their child’s disease, treatment and side effects of treatment. I also enjoy educating and sharing my knowledge with the nursing staff. The nurse practitioners at CHOP are an integral part of the medical and nursing teams and provide consistency for patients and families.

My area of specialty is solid tumors. I have worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, caring for patients with various types of solid tumors. I assisted in the development of the solid tumor intake service and have worked to help patients and families come to CHOP for either second opinions or treatments that are not offered at other institutions.

My research interests include the development of new therapies for pediatric solid tumors, patient safety and pain management. During the time that I have worked in pediatric oncology, what has impressed me most is the resilience of pediatric oncology patients.
