COVID-19 Vaccine Program: Children Ages 5-11

En Español »

U.S. children ages 5-11 are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccination under the FDA’s expanded emergency use authorization (EUA). Vaccination of children in this age group has also been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Please note, at this time patients under the age of 18 can only receive the Pfizer vaccine.

CHOP's vaccine distribution plans for children ages 5-11: Current status

At this time, eligible CHOP Primary Care patients ages 5-11 can receive the COVID-19 vaccine in one of two ways:

  1. At designated vaccination clinics held at select CHOP Primary Care offices. These convenient vaccine hubs are designed to vaccinate as many children in this age group as efficiently and safely as possible.
  2. Depending on vaccine supply, vaccination may also be available at your CHOP Primary Care office during routine, pre-scheduled well visits.

If you are not currently a CHOP Primary Care patient, please talk to your child's personal primary care physician about the COVID-19 vaccine. The Vaccines.gov Vaccine Finder may also help you locate a Pfizer vaccine program near you as they become available.

How to schedule an appointment at a vaccine hub location

Eligible CHOP Primary Care patients may schedule online using the patient’s MyCHOP account.

  • Log in to MyCHOP and choose the eligible child’s profile. Click “Menu” > “Schedule an Appointment” > “Care Network (Primary Care)” > "COVID Vaccine.”
  • Check back frequently for additional appointments slots and vaccination clinic updates.

If you don’t have an active MyCHOP account, use the "book now" links below to schedule at one of our convenient vaccine hub locations.

Remember when scheduling: you’ll need to return three weeks later for the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. If your child has received their first or both doses of the Pfizer vaccine at a location other than CHOP, please notify your primary care office.

Finding other vaccination sites close to home

If you have the opportunity to vaccinate your child through another trusted community program, such as a school, pharmacy or local health department, we encourage you to do so. If your child is vaccinated through another program, make sure to inform your primary care provider at your next appointment.

PLEASE REMEMBER: 5-11-year-olds can ONLY receive the Pfizer vaccine.
