Cystic Fibrosis Research Studies
The Cystic Fibrosis Center research team is comprised of doctors, scientists, lab technicians and research coordinators, all solely dedicated to cystic fibrosis research.
This team is working on everything from laboratory research in cystic fibrosis (CF) airway cells to the CF endocrine system. We are currently conducting 15 observational research studies that involve various procedures and evaluations to further understand different aspects of this disease.
We are specifically concentrating on the disease process of CFRD (CF Related Diabetes) and glucose abnormalities with the goal of finding easier ways to screen, treat and potentially prevent CFRD.
All around the world, CF patients of all ages are involved in clinical trials testing potential new drugs across different therapeutic areas. These clinical trials include 10 interventional drug studies here at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
Want to see if you qualify for an interventional drug study? The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has developed a new search tool for patients and families to find available trials. The online Clinical Trial Finder allows you to narrow your search (by age, lung function, type of therapy) and provides information on specific clinical trials.
