About Grace J. Chan, MD, PhD, MPH
Dr. Chan is a physician-scientist with expertise in epidemiology and global health. Her research aims to improve child health by using epidemiologic methods to discover and deliver evidence-based interventions. She is motivated by the need to reduce child morbidity and mortality in settings where populations have the a high burden of disease and limited data, research, and programs. Her work focuses on surveillance of child morbidity and mortality to improve disease estimates, growth and neurodevelopment, risk prediction for adverse birth outcomes, maternal and neonatal infections, and development and testing of interventions to improve survival and well-being of infants and children. She has partnered with community-based organizations, government agencies, and the World Health Organization to discover and deliver cost-effective interventions for vulnerable populations.
