Emergency Department Educational Opportunities
The Division of Emergency Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) offers clinical education, residency and fellowship opportunities for those interested in a career in emergency medicine.
Clinical Observer Program
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia allows non-high school students (18 years old and older) to observe the clinicians in the Emergency Department (16 hours max; no overnights). To participate, you will be required to undergo an onboarding process that includes an occupational health form.

Academic Associate (AA) Program
The Academic Associate (AA) Program provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research within a fast-paced Emergency Department setting at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Participants gain fundamental skills in research, including patient interaction, research methodology, and informed consent procedures.

CHOP OPEN is an online learning platform providing pediatric medical education to healthcare professionals around the world. This free, open-access learning platform houses hundreds of medical education courses delivered by CHOP faculty and practitioners.
