This multidisciplinary course is intended for physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, nurses, respiratory therapists and other members of the healthcare team such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians and social workers who provide care for patients with chronic lung disease (CLD) or bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and their families. This course will explore the pathophysiology, current research and key aspects of the management of severe CLD, including diagnostic and treatment options. This course will also discuss the long-term needs of infants with severe CLD, highlighting the chronic nature of this illness extending beyond the neonatal period.
