2022 Virtual Next Generation Therapeutics

Sep 19, 2022 from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (ET)

For the past two years, the Mitochondrial Medicine team from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has convened a virtual Next Generation Therapeutics panel to discuss the challenges and complexities of delivering life-giving therapies to patients with mitochondrial disease and their families. Thanks to generous sponsors, this event has raised more than $100,000 in the past two years to support mitochondrial disease research at CHOP. More importantly, this event has facilitated dialogue between medical and pharmacological experts, as well as families affected by mitochondrial disease.

Please join us this year – during Mitochondrial Awareness Week – to discuss next generation therapies on the road to realizing precision mitochondrial medicine. CHOP is pleased to be joined by the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) as our presenting partner for this event.

This event will include:

  • A welcome from Marni Falk, MD, Executive Director of the Mitochondrial Medicine Frontier Program at CHOP, and an introduction to staff from UMDF
  • A panel discussion co-moderated by staff from CHOP Mitochondrial Medicine and UMDF, and featuring CHOP mitochondrial families and pharma partners
  • A Q&A and closing discussion with Dr. Falk and the CHOP Mitochondrial Medicine team

This event is free and open to all: families, advocates, pharma partners and anyone interested in seeking meaningful therapeutics for mitochondrial disease.
