The CHOP Talks CME lecture series is an opportunity for pediatric subspecialists from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to share their expertise with you.

  • 7:35 p.m. — Safety Matters in Surgical Decision-making: An Improved Process for Scoliosis Surgical Management

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this CME live activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Determine what cardiac issues require further evaluation by a cardiologist
  2. Discuss the common conditions that may raise the suspicion of cardiac disease in healthy school-aged athletes
  3. Review strategies to promote injury prevention and identify red ags associated with increased back to school activity
  4. Review how to screen for scoliosis and what studies to order if needed
  5. Review intra- and post-operative safety measures in surgical scoliosis management
