Independence and Insulin: Young Adult Workshop (King of Prussia)

The Diabetes Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) invites patients with diabetes who are considering college, moving out on their own or in the need of an adult provider to attend this free workshop. This workshop is open to patients and their families. Participants will be able to learn skills about upcoming transitions in their lives. They will be able to meet other teens and families and receive support from others who understand diabetes.

Teens: You will learn how to prepare for your upcoming transition and how to be successful in the future.

Parents and Caregivers: You will learn how to support your teen becoming independent.

Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. with interactive information sessions to follow. Workshops will be lead by Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Diabetes Educators from the Diabetes Center at CHOP.

Event check-in begins at 5 p.m.
