Overview

This conference is intended for local and regional primary care physicians, psychologists, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare providers specializing in family medicine, internal medicine, gynecology, pediatrics and psychiatry. The program’s aim is to increase the overall knowledge, understanding and competencies of multidisciplinary providers in areas of importance in the healthcare of adolescents. The learning format will include didactic lectures with interactive question-and-answer sessions and small group breakout sessions, an expert hot topic panels and interactive workshops.

Objectives

  1. Explain current evidence-based screening guidelines in adolescent health care and pragmatic implementation strategies in primary care.
  2. Increase health literacy in hot topics, such as gender-affirming care, abortion access, and opioid addiction.
  3. Review adolescent-focused physical exam techniques, including skin, abdomen, and genital components, using sensitive and trauma-informed practices.
  4. Demonstrate communication skills in delivering public health messages on topics related to adolescent health.
