This one-day program is targeted to endocrinologists, neuro-oncologists, radiologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-ophthalmologists, fellows, residents and nurse practitioners who evaluate or treat children with disease of the pituitary and hypothalamus. This program will highlight advances in diagnostics and therapy for children with conditions including pituitary tumors, diabetes insipidus, post-cancer growth hormone therapy and hypothalamic obesity. The program will include expert panels with Q&A.

Objectives

  • Explain the interpretation of the pituitary by MRI
  • Discuss how to evaluate vision in children with pituitary lesions
  • Discuss new therapies for children with gigantism
  • Identify the therapies for hypothalamic obesity that are currently available or in development
  • Discuss issues related to growth hormone therapy in survivors of childhood cancer
