This course is focused on perioperative bedside ultrasound and is designed for anesthesia providers. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on practical sessions using live pediatric models, attendees will learn ultrasound techniques including cardiac evaluation, lung evaluation, fluid status evaluation, and procedural guidance for peripheral IVs, central lines and midlines.
- Properly acquire cardiac images and evaluate for cardiac function and volume status.
- Properly acquire lung images and evaluate for pneumothorax, pleural effusion, and interstitial disease.
- Demonstrate how to use ultrasound for peripheral and central line access.
