We hope you will join us for a day of learning designed for families navigating this lifelong heart condition. The 2026 Phillips Family Single Ventricle Education Day is an in-person event hosted by the FORWARD (FOntan Rehabilitation, Wellness, Activity, and Resilience Development) Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
We welcome parents and caregivers of single-ventricle patients, as well as patients ages 13 and older.
In addition to educational sessions, families will have the chance to meet and connect with others in the single-ventricle (SV) community. You’re not alone on this journey!
Breakout sessions tailored to SV patients will help them understand and prepare for a seamless transition from pediatric to young-adult care.
Among the topics we’ll discuss are:
- Understanding the Single Ventricle journey: What to expect from diagnosis through surgerie
- Approaching exercise: Tips on managing energy levels with a Fontan
- Forging bonds: Advice for navigating relationships and friendships within the SV community
- Being your best advocate: How to build rapport with your SV team and manage your medication
A light breakfast, snacks and lunch will be served including Kosher and vegetarian options.
Please RSVP by Friday, September 25, 2026.
