Date:
Apr 19, 2023 from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (ET)

Overview

Within and beyond the CHOP/Penn community, we have cataloged multiple opportunities to learn the basics of qualitative research. What’s missing is a venue for more advanced training in qualitative research, particularly training that is feasible for full-time clinicians and health professions educators. Designed to support intermediate & advanced level qualitative researchers, The Qualitative Studio is a hands-on workshop aims to advance knowledge and skills in qualitative research. In this offering, participants will develop practical skills with two innovative types of data collection: rich pictures & audio diaries.

Objectives

  1. Describe primary paradigmatic differences between post-positivism and constructivism.
  2. Identify when and how to use audio diaries in their qualitative research projects.
  3. Recognize when and how to use rich pictures in their qualitative research projects.
