CHOP’s Crisis Response Center: Resources for Professionals
Referring to the Crisis Response Center in CHOP’s Behavioral Health and Crisis Center
When you refer a patient to the Crisis Response Center in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Behavioral Health and Crisis Center (BHCC), you are referring them for a comprehensive evaluation, which may not necessarily lead to admission. Every patient is assessed by a licensed mental health evaluator and psychiatrist, who will confirm a treatment plan and determine the most appropriate level of care. Based on this evaluation, the team may recommend inpatient care, a partial hospitalization program or another treatment option that best meets the patient’s needs and insurance coverage.
If a patient requires inpatient admission, families are presented with options and the opportunity to decide whether to move forward with admission at CHOP or another facility.
When making a referral, please include your contact information so the Crisis Response Center team can follow up to coordinate next steps.
