Christina: Hey Monica. How are you? It's so good to see you.
Monica: Hi Christina. Good to see you too. How you doing?
Christina: I heard your daughter's getting discharged. That's wonderful news.
Monica: Yeah, I'm really excited. I'm sitting here right now scheduling her follow-up appointment.
Christina: Yeah, I'm gonna have to do that too, but I'll just wait till we like check out at the exit.
Monica: Why would you do that when you can do it with your MyCHOP app?
Christina: You can do that on MyCHOP?
Monica: Yeah, it's on your phone.
Christina: What is an app?
Monica: Yeah, it's an app. You download the app, put the code in, and your whole family will be in the profile.
Aliya: I started using MyCHOP when I was around 18. I wanted to start using it to become more independent with my healthcare.
I would say my favorite feature is text messaging with your doctors. I can talk to my doctors really quickly instead of like a formal email.
Christina: Oh yeah. So all three of my kids, I can get access to all of them?
Monica: Yes.
Christina: Just one account.
Monica: One account.
Christina: Oh, I love that.
Monica: Yep. And you can even put pictures of your kids on each one of the accounts.
It's really easy to use.
Christina: You can have one account for all your children, so if you wanna check in on one child, you can do that and then quickly switch to another child and not have to keep logging in and out of the MyCHOP app.
Gemma: It definitely makes everything all in one place, super easy to find, and you don't have to go through tons of different people just to get one answer.
Aliya: Yeah, I had this X-ray the other day, and I didn't know the specific bone structures or what it really said at all, so I just copy and pasted it into the library and was able to kind of like explain everything that I had no idea what it was saying.
Gemma: That's awesome. I use it to check blood work the most.
Christina: Okay. So you could put a lab in there?
Gemma: Yes, I could put a lab in there
L'Vonne: If I had a question or if his school had a question, or if his nurse had a question, I was able to email the doctors and they were able to respond within 24 to 48 hours.
Monica: You can do telehealth visits, you can put yourself on the wait list, say you make an appointment and you wanna come in sooner, so you sign up for wait list when you're waiting for an appointment.
Christina: Mm-hmm.
Monica: You'll get the alert on your phone or your watch.
Christina: So I don't have to keep calling and checking if there's an. Oh wow.
Monica: Nope. At the tip of your fingers.
Christina: All right. Sounds like I should really get the app and sign up today.
Monica: Yeah, I think you should chop, chop and get that app.
Christina: Sounds good.

Monica: Hi, my name is Monica Jones and I'm a mother of three children who get their medical care at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I'm here to talk to you about an app called MyCHOP. MyCHOP is an easy way to manage your child's healthcare at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. You can do this from wherever you are using your phone or your computer.
You don't need to call the doctor's office and you can do it at whatever time works best for you. The MyCHOP app lets you contact your child's healthcare team, make appointments, get test results, refill prescriptions, and so much more. You can also check your child's symptoms and get guidance on how to get the right level of care.
To sign up, ask somebody from your healthcare team for an activation code to get you started. You can access the website and download the app by going to mychop.chop.edu. Caregivers or legal guardians of children from birth to age 18 can access their children's accounts as proxies. Proxy account access will be limited for children 13 and older and removed at age 18 unless granted access by the adult child. Teens, age 13 and over can register for their own MyCHOP accounts with full access.
Once you log in, you'll see the home screen where you can click into some of our popular features. Scroll down to see new notifications or your upcoming appointments, or click the three bar icon at the top left to open the full menu of options. Here are some of our family's favorite features about the app.
Contact your providers by clicking messages, then choose "Contact your care team". Pick the topic in which provider you want to contact, type your message and hit send. See your lab and imaging results by clicking "Test results". Then search for specific tests or scroll down to the list to find them. Make an appointment by clicking "Schedule appointment".
Then pick which provider you want to see and the reason for your visit. Refill a prescription by clicking "Medications". Then scroll to find the medicine you need refilled and click "Request refill from provider". Share your child's health information with a family member, daycare provider, school nurse, and so much more. Access copies of important forms by clicking "Letters," which will have any letters or forms already sent by your CHOP provider for school, daycare, sports physicals, and more. And MyCHOP is available in multiple languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese, and many more. Are you ready to sign up? Ask your provider how to get set up with MyCHOP today.
