Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Stands Against Discrimination in Healthcare

Published on

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) believes that all of Pennsylvania’s children deserve access to healthcare free of discrimination.

For that reason, the Hospital opposes House Bill 1933 (HB1933), which would prohibit transgender or gender-nonconforming children from receiving essential, evidence-based healthcare services if they receive their health coverage through Medicaid or CHIP.

We hope lawmakers will oppose this bill in order to ensure no child is turned away from necessary care under Medicaid or CHIP.
