CHOP Neurology Fellow Sets Sights on Olympics

Published on in CHOP News

Duriel Hardy, MD, a fellow within the Division of Neurology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), has been a lifelong runner and is taking it one step further this February. Dr. Hardy is heading to Atlanta to participate in the Olympic Marathon Trials. His goal? To secure a position on the Olympics roster and compete in Tokyo this summer.

Dr. Hardy discusses with 6 ABC how it takes a certain personality to run long distance, just as it does to pursue a career in medicine.

"I think those personalities are similar in that it is a very long road for both marathon training and with the medical profession, and so it requires a lot of dedication and perseverance and commitment," said Dr. Hardy.
