CHOP Physician Honored with Distinguished Alumni Award

Dr Ludwig The Alumni Organization at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia announced presented Stephen Ludwig, MD, with the 2016 Richard D. Wood Distinguished Alumni Award at a reception on June 6, 2016.

Ludwig serves as chairman of the Graduate Medical Education Committee and Continuing Medical Education Committee at CHOP, and is a designated institutional official and senior advisor for Medical Education. He is an attending physician in general pediatrics at CHOP and a professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Stephen Ludwig, MD Dr. Ludwig has served as president of the Academic Pediatric Association (APA), was elected to the Institute of Medicine, chaired the Pediatric Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).

Ludwig earned his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University, and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship and residency at Children's Hospital National Medical Center, where he was chief resident.
