Representatives from CHOP’s OEI attend this year’s SXSW
Earlier this week, Patrick FitzGerald, vice president of CHOP’s Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, joined executives from several leading children’s hospitals to judge the Impact Pediatric Healthcare Competition at this year’s SXSW. A one-of-a-kind pitch competition to help showcase and support the best pediatric healthcare innovations, Impact Pediatric Health was founded by Boston Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital and CHOP.
This year’s winner, Cohero Health, won $50,000 to help prepare for its commercial launch. Led by Melissa Mance, the company developed a connected health device to help children with asthma, particularly their parents, to manage medication adherence and reduce missed days from school.
