Children's Hospital of Philadelphia hosted the first international complex care conference with over 265 participants from 100+ institutions and four countries. This continuing education opportunity for physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses in the care of children with medical complexity was a huge success and the first of its kind for this emerging field.
The two-and-a-half-day conference, held September 25-27, offered an array of didactic and interactive sessions, covering key complex care content areas, including a review of current diagnostic and management strategies, care of children with technology use, and innovations in research, medical education, patient advocacy and models of care. Through learning, sharing and networking, the educational conference gave the collaborative community the tools necessary to best care for CMC and support their families.
Highlights:
- Concurrent dynamic sessions for multiple levels of learners and leaders
- Discussion of evidence-based guidelines and best practices
- Networking and mentorship opportunities
- Hands-on medical technology demonstrations
- Keynote speakers: Dr. Julie Hauer, Dr. Annique Hogan, Dr. Chris Feudtner
